Materials Needed

Red Heart Super Saver Warm Brown 2 7oz skeins

Red Heart Super Saver Aran 2 skeins 2 7oz skeins

M (9.0mm) hook

Scissors

Yarn Needle

Stitches Used

Ch = Chain

SC = Single Crochet

Gauge: With M hook 9 sc and 11 rows = 4”

Using 1 strand of each color, chain 25

Row 1: Sc in the second chain from the hook and in each chain across, turn (24 sc)

Row 2: Ch 2, Sc in each sc across, turn.

Repeat row 2 until piece measures approximately 14 ½”. Finish off and weave in ends.

Edging

Rnd 1: With right side facing, using 2 stands of yarn, join yarn in any corner. Ch 1, 3 sc in the same stitch. Sc across the top and down the sides, putting 3 sc in each corner. Join with slip stitch to beginning sc.

Rnd 2: Ch1, sc in same stitch and in each stitch around. Join with slip stitch to beginning sc. Finish off and weave in ends.

Please note that the yarn amounts listed will make 6 placemats.
