Today was a nice quiet day. I worked on my current dishcloth, socks, and now am going to work on my lace shawl. I’ll try to write more tomorrow.

June 29, 2008For the most part this was a quiet weekend. I did finish my socks and started another pair. I’ll write more tomorrow.
I hate 16″ needles!
June 26, 2008I’ve been knitting my socks on 2 circulars using a 16″ and a 24″ needle. Today, I decided that I really do not like the 16″ needle. The problem is that the needle is shorter than the 24″ and my hand is just too big. It’s the same reason I don’t like to eat anything but a salad with a salad fork. A salad fork is just too small for my hand. So, tomorrow, I will be going to my lys to get another 24″ size 1 circular needle.
Summer School
June 25, 2008Today was the first day of summer school for Tyler. He was a little nervous but he had a good time. As he got off the bus, several of the kids waved and called out goodbye to him.
It was chilly today so I started a knit shrug. I have a crocheted one that I made in a open pattern. However, I want one that will actually keep my arms warm. So, I started a top down, raglan style one. It will be like a mini sweater.
Sock Blockers
June 24, 2008I finally broke down and bought a pair of sock blockers. I bought them on ebay from chappywoman. Her store is Chappy’s Fiber Arts and Crafts I am very pleased with them. They shipped promptly and arrived quickly in excellent condition. I would highly recommend them.
Mine have the cutout of a ball of yarn with knitting needles stuck through. My logo has that too so I couldn’t resist.

Tired today!
June 23, 2008I have felt tired all day today. I took a nap this afternoon. I didn’t get much knitting done.
I’m at a frustrating point in my Adamas shawl. I’m at the end of the 4th repeat and I have to keep frogging it. I’m getting ready to go work on it and hopefully I will make some progress.
Lazy weekend
June 22, 2008I had a nice quiet weekend. I didn’t get anything done on my shawl but am making good progress on my socks. I’ll post a picture tomorrow.
Last day of school!
June 19, 2008Today was Tyler’s last day of school. We are looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow.
Today, I worked on the insurance list. I also knit another repeat on my shawl, finished a sock, and started a secret project!

June 19, 2008This week I’ve been working on my first lace project, the
Adamas Shawl. It is a wonderful first project. However, it seemed like all week I was working on the same repeat, only to have to frog it and start over. I finally got past the second repeat and did the third!!! I’m using Malabrigo Lace yarn in the shadow blue colorway. I am very pleased so far.
Today, my son Tyler, had field day at school. He came home with a tattoo!
Fortunately, it was marker so it will fade away.
Tomorrow is his last day of school. He’ll have a few days off and then start summer school.
